Wild, D Dumba agree to 5 years, $30M

ST. PAUL, Minn. (AP) The Wild and Matt Dumba have agreed on a five-year, $30 million deal to keep the 23-year-old defenseman in Minnesota after a breakout year.

General manager Paul Fenton announced the deal Saturday with the restricted free agent.

Dumba had 14 goals and 36 assists to go with a plus-15 rating in 82 games last season, when he had career highs in games played, goals, assists, points, game-winning goals (4), power-play assists (10), time on ice (23:48), shots on goal (176), hits (136) and blocked shots (112). The 6-foot, 184-pound Dumba is from Regina, Saskatchewan, and was the No. 7 overall pick by Minnesota in 2012.

Knights end trademark dispute with Army

LAS VEGAS (AP) The Vegas Golden Knights have resolved a trademark dispute with the U.S. Army over the NHL franchise's name and gold and black colors.

The hockey team said in a statement Thursday that an agreement with the Army allows the team to continue using the "Vegas Golden Knights" and "Golden Knights" while the Army can keep using the "Golden Knights" nickname and variations of it for its parachute exhibition team.

Chelios leaving Wings for family reasons

DETROIT (AP) Chris Chelios is leaving the Detroit Red Wings to return to his hometown of Chicago.

Chelios spent a decade with the Red Wings as a player from 1999-2009, and he's also been an adviser for the team. His Hall of Fame career as a defenseman started in Montreal before he spent eight years with the Blackhawks.

Caps re-sign D Bowey to 2-year, $2M deal

ARLINGTON, Va. (AP) The Washington Capitals have re-signed defenseman Madison Bowey to a two-year deal worth $2 million.

General manager Brian MacLellan announced the contract Thursday. Right winger Tom Wilson is the team's only remaining restricted free agent.

The 35-year-old player whose career spanned 11 seasons drowned in Hamilton Harbour on Sunday.

ANAHEIM, Calif. (AP) Center Adam Henrique has signed a $29.1 million, five-year contract extension with the Anaheim Ducks.

The deal announced Monday runs through the 2023-24 season and allows Henrique to avoid free agency next summer.

Flames sign F Lindholm for 6 years

CALGARY, Alberta (AP) The Calgary Flames have signed forward Elias Lindholm to a six-year contract at an average salary of $4.85 million.

The 23-year-old Swede was acquired by Calgary along with defenseman Noah Hanafin in a June 23 trade that sent defensemen Dougie Hamilton and Adam Fox and forward Michael Ferland to Carolina.
